Deposit Made for Livermore Fireworks

Pyro Spectaculars receives deposit for Livermore July 4th fireworks, and fundraising efforts continue to bring back the annual 4th-of-July celebration.

Jeff Thomas of Pyro Spectaculars was in town last week to receive a big check - a $11,250 check - representing the 50% downpayment for the July 4th fireworks display.  Wendy Weathers, Chairperson Livermore Fireworks Community Committee, Beth Wilson, Board President Livermore Area Recreation and Park District, and Mayor John Marchard, representing the partnership between the community volunteers, LARPD and the City of Livermore, handed the check to Jeff.  The balance of the payment to Pyro Spectaculars is due July 5, 2012.

The fundraising efforts to bring back the Livermore fireworks has resulted in $15,000 being raised to date.  A total of $46,000 is needed prior to July 4th to cover the early expenses associate with a community wide 4th-of-July celebration, with parking and entrance fees covering the balance of the costs.  Additional fundraisers are in the works and sponsors are being sought.

The next fundraiser is Livermore Fireworks day at the three restaurants - print and take the use-one-share-one coupon to Carl's Jr. on Wednesday, April 25 and 20% of your purchase will be donated to the Bring Back the Livermore Fireworks fund.  Check to Livermore Fireworks website to stay up to date and to donate online.
