Hot Savings...Literally

Today is starting to feel like the "summer we never got". To conserve energy, here are a few tips that can really reduce your PG&E bill:

1. Keep the blinds in your house closed so that the sun rays do not heat up your home.
2. Check the insulation in your home! This may sound like a big deal, but if your home is subject to frequent unwanted heat (or coolness in the winter), this may be due to your insulation. Most new homes should not have to worry about this but it's a great idea to look into it every now and then.
3. Don't use too much energy. Sounds a bit "forward", but when everyone is resorting to electronics, the AC, etc., it can cause an overload and cause a power outage (sorry-don't mean for the scare but this is why there are frequent power outages in the summer)
