Great Tips for those Busy Days!! Saving You Time and Energy!

Here are some simple tips, brought you by the Live More, Save More program. They are little things that have a great impact-enjoy!

  • Use microwaves or toaster ovens to recook/warm leftovers. It uses less energy than getting the stove and convection oven running. Plus, it won't burn your food!
  • Wash and dry several loads at once. It prevents from having to heat up your dryer, letting it cool down, then heating it up again. I guess the old saying, "A body in motion stays in motion" actually applies after all. Then, you get all those clothes done with.
  • Wash full loads of clothes/linens/etc. It wastes water and energy to only do half-loads, so try to avoid them. It helps because then you can keep everyone's loads together and can help eliminate "missing socks".
  • Use fitting lids on your cooking ware. Not only does it keep the moisture in your food and great flavor (great cooking tip!) but it can shorten the cooking time as well. For example, when boiling water for pasta, cover the pot. It brings it to a boil much faster.
Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for more tips, suggestions, and information about reducing your energy use as well.
