Tri-Valley Haven Announces its Annual Student Art Contest

“Art transcends all boundaries. It speaks to your heart and engages your mind.” October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Tri-Valley Haven invites all Tri-Valley area students to help raise awareness of family violence through participating in our 17th Annual Student Art Contest.  This year’s theme is Domestic Violence: No Excuses, Make It Stop! We want to encourage youth of all ages and levels of experience to participate in raising awareness about domestic violence. Art work must be original, may use up to four colors and must not be larger than 14X14 inches.  Deadline for submissions is September 23th 2013. The winner receives $100 cash prize and their artwork will be featured on the t-shirt for Tri-Valley Haven’s Pace for Peace 5K Walk/Run.  Winner will receive a commemorative t-shirt and be presented with their prizes at the Pace for Peace Event. For more information about the contest, contact Maureen Hamm at: 925 667-2727. The Pace for Peace 5K Walk/Run will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 8am. Registration begins at 7:30 am on the corner of K Street, between First and Second Streets, Livermore. Now in its fourth decade of service Tri-Valley Haven provides vitals shelter and support services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and homelessness.  The Haven also provides comprehensive violence prevention education and counseling.
