Teacher Who Pled No Contest to Sex with Minor to Have Diagnostic Test Before Sentencing
Marie Johnson, a former Granada High teacher, has been ordered by a judge to Chowchilla State Prison for a diagnostic study prior to sentencing. Johnson will appear for sentencing on Aug. 13.

Fire Closes Anita's Taqueria

The taqueria has been closed since a small fire broke out on Monday. There is no estimate for when the restaurant will reopen.

Livermore Man Dies After Motorcycle Collided With Vehicle
Motorcyclist Paul Schandel, 44, of Livermore died after he was involved in a collision on Holmes Street, just north of Concannon Boulevard, at about 4 p.m. Monday. Livermore Police are asking for any witnesses to the collision to contact Officer Boyes at 925-371-9665.

Amgen
 
The Amgen Tour of California rolled through Livermore on Saturday. Livermore was the start of Stage 7 of the race. The Stage 7 "Finish Festival" was hosted in downtown Livermore. A suspicious cardboard box was found in a dumpster during the festival, causing an evacuation. Read the full story here.

Fundraisers for Murder Victim's Children 
Money has been raised for the children of former Tri-Valley resident Amber Seymore, who was killed in a murder-suicide by her husband in North Carolina. Amber, who lived previously in the Tri-Valley, was murdered on Dec. 3 by her husband, former BART officer, Robert Seymore, before he turned the gun on himself. Two women in North Carolina have been raising money to help with the care of Amber's three young children.
