Last year, the had some great acts — The Charlie Daniels Band, Blue Oyster Cult, and Survivor to name a few.
But this year, because fair officials did away with the two-concerts-per-night requirements for each band, they were able to land some pretty spectacular acts.
Each band will play at 7 p.m. (instead of 6 p.m. and again at 8 p.m. as in years past) in the fair amphitheater.
If we had to guess, we would say that a lot of the local ladies are most excited about Rick Springfield — many have loved him ever since he was the dreamy Dr. Noah Drake on General Hospital in the 1980s. (And by many, I mean me).
The fair also snagged The Temptations, Morris Day & the Time and 38 Special.
But there are acts for the young ones too — Hoobastank and Kellie Pickler, for example. And who doesn't love Salt-N-Peppa?
There will also be a lot of traditional fair fare, like Tower of Power and America.
