Family, Friends to Celebrate Life of Louis Moreno

Viewing to begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Callaghan Mortuary, and to be followed by services.

Family and friends of a man who apparently killed himself by intentionally falling from a freeway overpass will celebrate his life Friday.

A viewing for Louis Moreno will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at . Services and a burial will take place immediately afterward, from 1 to 2 p.m.

A reception will follow at on Mocho Street.

Moreno, 41, was found dead Saturday morning on eastbound Interstate 580 just under the Airway Boulevard freeway overpass.

An investigation as to how he fell to his death continues, but it is believed Moreno took his life, officials said.

Police said witnesses reported that Moreno was sitting on the overpass guardrail and then leaned forward, falling to the freeway below.

He did not appear to have been hit by any vehicles, Livermore police Sgt. Brian Martinez said.

Family and friends have expressed their shock at the news in comments posted in response to a previous tory on Moreno's death.

Moreno is a longtime Livermore resident who attended and , according to comments left by friends and family.

He also was a talented high school soccer player and played football.

Bob Parness said he coached Moreno for three years on Granada High's football team.

"He was a great person and player," Parness wrote."He will be greatly missed!"

Friends and family said Moreno's death is devastating.

"Livermore won't be the same without you," wrote Lisa Arnold.

San Diego resident Rico Flores Jr. wrote: "Word travels fast when the world loses a good man. May God have mercy on your soul. Rest in peace brother."
