Tommie's Cafe Announces Sudden Closure

October 26 and 27 will be the last time the cafe opens its doors to the public.

After seven years in Livermore, Tommie's Cafe at the Library will close its doors.

"We were very surprised," said Tamera LeBeau, Director of Library Services at the Livermore Library.

LeBeau received an email Friday from Tommie's Cafe stating that due to financial burden, this weekend would be the cafe's last.

"We wish to take this opportunity to let our vendors, business partners, and friends know that we can no longer meet our financial obligations and are closing our doors immediately," the email reads.

The business had been originally located on Second Street and relocated to the library five years ago.

"It's very unfortunate news for the community," LeBeau said. "The cafe is an important service to the library. We've enjoyed having them here."

The cafe will be open from 10 am to 1 pm Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 26 and 27 and then close.
