Sprouts & Shutters: Sneaker Store Opens, New Bakery and More

Here's the latest roundup of retail, restaurant and other business news in the Tri-Valley area.

Wondering what’s moving into your neighborhood shopping center? Our weekly Sprouts & Shutters column highlights the latest Tri-Valley restaurant, retail and other business news.

The owners of Casse-Croute Bakery, previewed back in March, say they hope to open their new business later this month. Livermore’s new bakery, opening next to Del Sole Comfort Shoes on S. Livermore, will make artisan baked goods using local, organic ingredients.

Opening Update: Sneaker Habit, covered in a , opened June 1 in Livermore on Second Street. The new store specializes in—you guessed it—trendy sneakers for sale, trade and consignment.

Dublin’s , which just opened last November, closed a couple months ago. According to the restaurant’s facebook page, the owners are “looking into moving into our own location in the near future.” Meanwhile Unir’s former home, , is constructing its own restaurant. Managing partner Tim Carlos says they don’t yet have a restaurant name or opening date but hope to launch this fall. We’ll include an update in a future column.

Skin Perfection opened on Stoneridge Mall Road in “The Atrium” building a few months ago. The new Pleasanton skin care clinic offers a variety of treatments (such as peels, microdermabrasion, LED facials and cleanses), waxing services and skin products for sale. Learn more at skin-perfection.net.

Opening Update: JC Dollar Store, previewed in the , opened in May in Kathy’s Health Club’s old space on Santa Rita Road.

will close its gym in the Town and Country Drive on June 22. But members won’t have to forgo their workouts for long: Property leasing manager Gary Riele says they’re working with new tenant Danville Fit to open as soon as June 23. Danville Fit, locally managed by Pinnacle’s former owners, will allow Bally’s members to continue using the facility during a transition period until they join the new athletic club. San Ramon’s is celebrating its anniversary this month at its eatery in the Shops at Bishop Ranch on Sunset Drive. The sushi restaurant recently introduced a new happy hour menu and is offering its happy hour pricing all day long through June. See your sushi options at littlemadfish.com.
