Livermore Chamber Partners with SCORE Counselors

A new partnership program provides free and low-cost resources to business owners and those wanting to start a business.

The has partnered with the East Bay SCORE, which is a powerful resource for business owners who want to succeed.

Two counselors are on the team, Joe Morgan and Jesse Chou.

Morgan spent nearly 40 years in GE management roles, developing and managing the business serving nuclear power plants around the world. Chou has served a number of companies as "corporate technology officer" and now is working in the developing world of social media and mobile phone applications.

The two have teamed up to serve Livermore's business community. They represent SCORE's East Bay chapter, which is headquartered in Oakland. East Bay SCORE has about 45 counselors, each assigned to one of the East Bay's Chambers of Commerce and other venues.

Entrepreneurs who seek to turn their business dreams into a reality understand that information and effective planning is the road map to success. In these volatile times in which business conditions are in a state of flux, the pathway to success can be very confusing. Starting a new business or expanding an existing business has significant risks and can be time consuming and overwhelming.

So the question becomes, "Why not ask for directions to your road to success?" Learning from experienced professionals is a smart way to reduce risk, but the cost of seeking support can be high. With the partnership between the Chamber and SCORE, the payback from using a SCORE counselor can be huge. The best part? SCORE counseling services are free.

Morgan and Chou meet with people who want to start a business or local businesses looking to make changes. They meet at the Livermore chamber office at 2157 First St. For an appointment, call the chamber at 925-447-1606.

Rafael and his crew do great work, and not just lawn service. He replaced our sprinkler system andRead More sodded two new lawns when we moved into our house. He and his crew have trimmed trees, planted flowers, and even built a new fence and gate. All at a fair price. I can't recommend his services enough.

Kevin and Chris are good guys. They genuinely want to give back and care about introducing as manyRead More kids (young and old) as possible to the incredibly rewarding world of music. I am fortunate enough to have had somebody similar to these guys motivate me to get involved in music when I was a kid. 31 years later, I am still beatin’ on my drums every day. Great job Kev and Chris. Keep it up!
