Meet Livermore's Own Wine Blog

Bryersantís Wine Consortium was founded by six friends with a passion for the Livermore wine country. Join them as they share their Livermore wine experiences with you.

Bryersantís Wine Consortium was founded in July of 2009 as six friends sat in the backyard sipping on Livermore wine. The question was asked, “Why do Napa and Sonoma get all of the wine publicity when Livermore wine is so delicious?”

With that question, Bryersantís was born. We decided to take something we all had in common, a love for wine and the Livermore Valley, and collectively work toward making Livermore, California the number one wine destination. We knew our goal was possible. After all, Livermore was the premier wine region in the country prior to prohibition. Livermore had received international acclaim in 1889 when Cresta Blanca Winery won the grand prize at the Paris International Exposition against 17,000 entries. By 1900, there were over 50 wineries in the valley. Unfortunately, following prohibition, bulk wine companies used the popular Livermore labels to sell their wine, which tarnished the credibility of the Livermore wine region and allowed other regions to rise up and take Livermore's place.

We have had many fantastic wine experiences over the two and a half years we have been together as Bryersantís. We have had the opportunity to meet many of the growers and most of the wine makers in the valley. We continue to be impressed by the quality of the wine produced by the winemakers in the Livermore AVA. Their hard work has paid off as Livermore wineries have made their presence felt at some of the most prestigious wine competitions. A prime example of this was seen at this year's .

I know there are those who give little credit to awards won at competitions and there are those who have built up walls based on preconceived notions that price and popularity make good wine. Thanks to the goal we set for ourselves back in 2009, we have had the opportunity to taste the best that Livermore has to offer. Based on what we have tasted, we feel sorry for the people from the Livermore area who travel more than 20 minutes to go wine tasting, spend $30 to $50 for that tasting, and spend their tasting experience with crowds that are usually only found at Disneyland.

If you are tired of the travel, the high prices, and the crowds and you want to taste wine that will amaze you, then it is time to give Livermore a try. Livermore is now home to over 50 wineries and tasting rooms. We have tasted at most of the wineries in the Livermore AVA and written about the great experiences and wines at those wineries. We do not believe ourselves to be wine experts, but we do know when we taste a wine that we love. If you are not sure where to start your Livermore wine journey or you are stumped on what to try next, then feel free to check out our blog and try some of our suggestions.
