Firefighters responded to a grass fire in the 5800 block of Mines Road Sunday afternoon, according to a Patch reader, who sent in several photos of the blaze.
According to Patch Reader Richard Flynn, who lives nearby, some homes were evacuated, and the California Highway Patrol closed a portion of the road.
Flynn said as of 5:20 p.m. the fire appeared to be under control.
