Teacher Who Pled No Contest to Sex with Minor to Have Diagnostic Test Before Sentencing

Marie Johnson, a former Granada High teacher, has been ordered to Chowchilla State Prison for the diagnostic study.

Marie Johnson, 42, who pled no contest earlier in May to having sex with a student, appeared in court today in Hayward Hall of Justice. 

Judge Hurley ordered that Johnson be sent to the Chowchilla State Prison for the next 90 days for an evaluation, according to officials at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.

Spokesperson Teresa Drenick says Judge Hurley ordered a 1203.03 diagnostic study report to be conducted on Johnson prior to sentencing. Johnson reports for sentencing on August 13.

The former former Granada High teacher plead no contest to nine counts of having sex with a student during her court appearance on May 7.
