Zydeco at the Bothwell

You are invited to join the increasingly popular Zydeco Dance party featuring foot-stomping live music from "The Delta King" and Best Zydeco Band award-winning Mark St. Mary & the Delta Blues & Zydeco band.  This band lit up the dance floor when they performed here in March, and we had so much fun we had to ask them back.

There's a fun, friendly community dedicated to Zydeco dance to welcome you to the floor. If you aren't familiar with Zydeco music, check it out on YouTube.  It's fun, it's lively, it's bl...uesy country foot-stomping and it's very own style.  And Zydeco Dance?  A bit of two-step, a bit of line dance, a bit of country and swing ... whatever your style, you can get out here and get your moves on, and learn a few new steps, too!

And if you don't like to dance?  There's food, socializing and great music for tapping your feet to.

In the tradition of Zydeco social gatherings, we welcome you to a free Zydeco Dance Lesson from Ted Sherrod, professional traveling Zydeco Dance instructor at 6pm and again during the band's break.  He makes it easy to do the moves with his laid-back Creole style.

Food & drink:  We're changing it out this time with JoAnn's no-host Creole Cuisine and letting her show off with her awesome Jambalaya, and the Bothwell's Beer, Wine & Beverage Bar is right there, too.  Come hungry, come thirsty, and come early, and then we suggest dancing it off!

Price:  $15 admission at the door, cash preferred.  Parking is free all around the Bothwell and Bothwell Park.

And save the date for Andre Thierry and Zydeco Magic for a Zydeco Holiday Dance Party on November 17th - kick off the holiday season and kick it up at the Bothwell!
