Art Happens, downtown Livermore

Art Happens in Livermore every second Thursday of the month in several downtown sites.  From
5:30-8:00pm, meet the artists, tour open studios, exhibits and try hands-on
arts projects. Art Happens is produced by the
Bothwell Arts Center with support from Livermore Performing Arts Center. 

 

May’s offerings features a reception for “Sweet Lines,
Fabulous Form” and the fun, lively artwork of Big Al Lopez at the Wild Vine, from
6:00 to 7:30 pm; open studios at Firehouse Art Studios in the historic
Firehouse building across from the Bankhead Theater; color-saturated, vibrant vineyard
works of Nova Starling as well as open studios for the working artists at the Bothwell’s
Downtown Art Studio space; glass art jewelry making projects at Art Glass
Studios and lace techniques at Café Art.

Figurehead Art Gallery exhibits an array of works by gallery
artists, and a special night at Blacksmith Square offers “Art of Fashion at
Artistic Edge” with an evening of textile art that is wearable, creative, colorful and
fun clothing, purses  and accessories.  With tasting rooms and the new brewery right
on the square, Artistic Edge suggests you socialize with the artists as they
demonstrate their “ wears”.   There will also be a fashion show
throughout the night.
