Monday, Aug. 12

  • An Evening with the Perseid Meteors 9 p.m. Livermore Area Recreation and Park District. As darkness descends, meet at Sycamore Grove Park to watch for lights streaking across the sky. The program includes half-mile walk into park to escape city lights. Bring blanket so you can lie down and watch the skies. Participants can stay til midnight or leave earlier. Sycamore Grove Park, 1051 Wetmore Road. 
Tuesday, Aug. 13

Sunday, Aug. 18
  • Twilight Jaunt 7:30 p.m. Livermore Area Recreation and Park District -- leisurely one-mile walk to spot night-time critters. Children welcome, but trails not paved. No strollers.
