Things to Know in Livermore This Week: April 29 - May 4

Livermore Valley Wine Country Festival

2013 Livermore Wine Country Festival is the largest celebration of wine, craft brews, arts, crafts, shopping, dining, entertainment and hometown charm in the East Bay! Over 150,000 attend each year to explore over 300 vendor booths and to shop at Downtown's incredible specialty boutiques. Enjoy our collection of restaurants that are globally inspired and locally enhanced! The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Visit the Bankhead

This weekend will feature a pair of acts visiting town to perform at the Bankhead Theater:

8 p.m. Friday — The California Symphony Presents: "A talented young conductor" (The Cleveland Plain Dealer), conductor Robert Trevino teams with renowned violin virtuoso Caroline Goulding performing Beethoven's Violin Concerto and the fantastically powerful Symphonie Fantastique by Berlioz. 8 p.m. Saturday — You'll be in Doo-Wop heaven as the world-famous Acapella Singing Group "THE ALLEY CATS" delivers their high-energy family-style show filled with great harmonies, comedy and oldies Doo-Wop fun! Further details here.
