Chamber Mixer

Writing Club

Young adults are invited to join the writing club on Thursday. Here are the details posted by the Livermore Library:

Do you dabble in writing and want to polish your skills? Have you always longed to compose a story, poem, or play? Whether you are a seasoned writer or just starting out, join published Young Adult author J.L. Powers at Livermore Public Library for the Writing Club for Young Adults. The Club will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Storytime Room at the Civic Center Library, 1188 South Livermore Avenue, Livermore. The event is free and no registration is required. Vintage Tales, Modern Tributes scheduled at 7 p.m. Friday at the Bankhead Theater. Details and costs at the Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center website.

Nature Walks and Talks

The park district's program on Saturday will delve into blue oak canyon birds. Program to begin at 8:30 a.m. at Holdener Park (East End of Hansen Road). Further details from the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District:

Holdener Park holds a magical blue oak canyon, sometimes full of chattering LBBs (little brown birds) and their friends. We’ll check out the canyon first then explore the surrounding grasslands for spring’s feathered friends. Parking is at the East end of Hansen Road, adjacent to the water tanks. Please call the ranger office 925-960-2400 if you need directions.
