Photo: Watch Out, LPD! Local Turkey Has the Springtown Beat Covered
This turkey takes his job seriously!
This photo of Springtown's own neighborhood turkey named "Oscar" was shared on our Livermore Patch page by Patch reader Joanne Parker Massa.
Massa introduced us to Oscar at he beginning of June and he is well-known to locals as the unofficial neighborhood crossing guard. Read Oscar's bio here: Photo of The Week: Unconventional Traffic Control
A bit overzealous in his post, Oscar was spotted chasing a police car on Bluebell earlier this week.
Massa wrote:
"Oscar the Springtown resident turkey, just chased a police car down the middle of Bluebell... Giving the officer a run for his money... I spoke to the officer and he was amazed at how this turkey just took off chasing his car clucking and carrying on... The LPD are now going to try to keep Oscar safe with traffic patrol in our neighborhood!"
The self-appointed sentry can be spotted in Springtown on any given day, according to residents.
Livermore Police officials have not yet been reached to comment on Oscar's neighborhood antics.
