Patch Picks: Spring Concerts and Street Parties

Mark your calendars to attend some exciting and fun events happening in your community this month!

Kick off the 2011 Street Party season on Main Street, Pleasanton, when the annual Cinco de Mayo celebration will be held 6 t0 9 p.m. tonight. Featured band Ruckatan and side stage band performance by Georgi & The Rough Week will be featured. Dine and walk the shops along Main Street, and enjoy wines from our local Livermore Valley wine country.

Garre Vineyard and Winery, 7986 Tesla Road, Livermore, will feature live music at its Café Garre, on Fri. evenings throughout the summer.  Call the café 925-371-8200 for reservations.

Sponsored by the Livermore Art Association (LAA), , Stage 4 Livermore to San Jose, will be held 10 a.m. t0 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Carnegie Hall, 2155 Third St., Livermore. Artists will be given a 10 by 10 space and setup begins at 8 a.m. Call 925-449-1604 for more information.

Plan to attend the fourth annual JamFest Youth Concert in Pleasanton.  The City of Pleasanton Parks and Community Services in conjunction with the Youth Commission is sponsoring the performances of local musical talent 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, May 27, in Lions Wayside Park. Male choral group Chanticleer will be performing, “Out of This World,” at 8 p.m. Friday, May 13, at Bankhead Theater, 2400 First Street, Livermore. Chanticleer’s will present works by  composer DJ Mason Bates about transmissions from outer space and “Cells Planets,” by Erica Lloyd.  The City of Dublin holds its Farmers’ Market Grand Opening Celebration 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 12 at Emerald Glen Park, 4201 Central Parkway, Dublin. The market announces “theme weeks” every month to showcase a variety of local talent and attractions.  On “First Thursdays,” (first Thursday of the month) enjoy a concert in the park, wine tasting, and dining samples from many of Dublin’s restaurants.
