Tumbling and Trampoline Regionals

The Springtime Tumbling and Trampoline team traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada to attend the combined Region 1 and 2 Trampoline and Tumbling Championships held May 10-12. This meet crowns the regional champions for each region in trampoline, double-mini trampoline, synchronized trampoline, and power tumbling. It is also one of two qualifying meets for the Junior Olympic National Championships, to be held July 2-10 in Kansas City, MO. To attend Nationals, gymnasts who are level 5 and over must earn a national qualifying score at either the State Championship or Regional Championship meet. Region 1 consists of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Region 2 consists of Arizona, California-South, California-North, Hawaii, and Nevada.

Springtime gymnasts earned twelve Regional Championship awards. In trampoline, Kaitlyn Clevenger (level 8, age 11-12), Delaney Foote (level 9, age 15 & up), and Ruben Padilla (level 10, age 10-11) achieved scores that put them at the top of both Regions 1 and 2. Delaney Foote (level 9) also placed first for Regions 1 and 2 in double-mini trampoline. In synchronized trampoline Ruben Padilla teamed up with Nick Leavell from Southern California’s World Elite to win the level 10 Regional Championship. In power tumbling Springtime gymnasts earned seven Regional Championships. Zoe Harries (level 3, age 11-12), Jeremy Pigford (level 7, age 13-14), and Ruben Padilla (level 10) were named power tumbling Regional Champions. Camille Wong (level 4, age 13-14), Ben Tomlin (level 4, age 9-10), Rebecca Okmin (level 8, age 13-14), and Emilio Lehmer (level 8, age 15 & up) were also named Regional Champions, with scores that ranked them at the top of both Regions 1 and 2.

In addition to earning Regional Champion awards, many Springtime athletes scored high marks, qualifying them to the National Championships.
