In today's Independent News article about Health Benefits to City Council members, Laureen Turner again claims that as a part time employee she wants full time benefits.
Now she (an apparently only she) wants the city to give her $2,400 a month medicals benefit for her part-times work for the city, where she already gets $1,400 a month. Apparently even the mayor is against this scheme.
The public has grown increasingly dissatisfied with the idea of elected officials -- particularly PART--TIMERS-- earning FULL--TIME benefits while city services are slashed
Turner has jumped on the gravy train of taxpayer supported benefits and is milking the system. This is a message she should heed, and start to respect the wishes of the people.
PART TIME elected officials and part time employees have NO business collecting medical benefits, especially "full-time" benefits like TURNER is doing.
IT IS JUST PLAIN WRONG AND A SCHEME AGAINST OUR TAXES.
