Join the Live More, Save More Program!

Have you stared at your PG&E bill and wondered how it is so high? Or why during certain months it spikes? Or simply how can you save money? The City of Livermore, Chevron Energy Solutions, and WattzOn, have brought to Livermore a free service to help residents and small business raise awareness about how to save energy and money, called, the Live More, Save More program. Because the program is funded by the named organizations, it is a free service to all residents and small businesses in Livermore (sorry, not Pleasanton or Dublin) and here to answer questions, provide consultations, and reward you if you do end up reducing your energy usage. Here are the steps to explain what a typical resident goes through:

1. Go online to create an account (www.livemoresavemore.org). We create the account so that we can link your PG&E bill and see where you use the most energy (and why).
2. Answer five simple questions:

  • Do you own or rent your home?
  • Where do you live (enter the area code)? (We ask this question because this is exclusively available to Livermore residents only)
  • What kind of home do you own? (Family-Single, Apartment, etc.)
  • When was your home built? (Sometimes you use more energy because your home has older appliances, poorer insulation, etc. which factors into your energy use)
  • What size is your home?

3. Schedule an appointment either in person on by phone. The purpose of the appointment is for the consultants to go over the process with you. We look at everything from the type of dryer you have, to the lights, to even simple habit problems (like leaving the computer on). In-person appointments are held at the Rincon or Civic Center Library at your convenience.

4. After your appointment is complete, it's time to start saving! If you reduce your energy use by more than 5%, you are automatically entered into a raffle to win a $100 giftcard.

5. That's it-all done! You don't need to do anything else. Even if you did not save energy/money, that's completely fine! No energy cop will come to arrest you. We applaud you for your time and for stepping up to raise awareness.
