DRIVERS OF LIVERMORE BEWARE!!

Last week while traveling towards town on Collier Canyon I crested a small rise to find a bicyclist heading directly towards me in the middle of MY LANE!  When he saw me he pointed to his right indicating the need for me to turn into opposing traffic for me to avoid him. Since I was traveling less than 40 mph and the oncoming traffic was luckily non-existent I was able to do so. After a lurid swerve I sounded the horn and added a digital indication of my displeasure, prompting him to attempt a right hand turn with the purpose of striking my car. Luckily I passed without contact. 

I mention this only because I have seen this man repeatedly around town. He is sadly and obviously in a sad state in that he dresses in rags and appears to be exceedingly unkempt. He frequents a popular local super market. I was able to discuss the encounter with an LPD officer who instantly knew who I was describing.  Evidently when he is cited for this type of dangerous behavior he simply pays the bail and returns to the streets. 

My purpose is to suggest any motorists give him ample passage to avoid injury to all involved. Since he apparently has relatively ample funds for groceries and legal fees I can only conclude he is dangerously and mentally unstable. Be alert.
