I was not able to attend the meeting tonight, but I would still like to be heard. I can not believe that after all of the passionate campaigning to build the Bankhead Theater it is even being considered for closure. Maybe it hasn't lived up to the promises of being the answer to our financial woes, but it's here, it's used, and been a venue for many artists we would not have other wised seen. Will Livermore High School have to share their stage once again and have to schedule their programs around other schedules? SHAME ON YOU! You made promises in order to manipulate our votes and voices before you examined all of the "What if?" scenarios if the Bankhead turned out to be a financial drain. You have a responsibility to the citizens of Livermore to live up to your promises. I for one will take a second look when you campaign for promises that you can not live up to. The fact that you are even considering closing it shakes my belief and trust of the local government. I will certainly think twice before believing your empty promises.

The tanner is defective in thinking the city is responsible. The bankhead is not owned or manage by the city in any ways. the city make no promise to keep its open other than the waste of tax monies they give to the private Bankhead group. It is the mis manage of the bankhead peoples that cause it to downfall. We the peoples and the city of the Livermore must be under no obligate to continue to help it. Our tax monies, without our permission, has been wasted on the private organization and that must be stopped rights away. I give these six points that must be done right aways to stop the bleeding of tax moneis 1. The bank needs to forclose and to sell it to the private investor or company 2. no more tax monies spent on it at all. PERIOD. 3. They need to have much better variety of shows for young peoples. 4. They needs to have the lower ticket prices so it is afforded to us all. 5. they needs to separate from the Seppala and the Friends of Livermore and Bankhead. 6. the city and county needs to stay out of the bank issue.
