Hank Pabley - Eagle Scout Troop 975

Eagle Scout Henry Pabley

Henry “Hank” Pabley joined Boy Scouts as a Cub Scout in Pack 915 in 2003. He quickly became involved with various Scout events and outing and enjoyed earning merit badges while learning new and exciting skills. Hank earned his Arrow of Light as a Cub Scout and, in March 2004, bridged to Troop 975. As a Boy Scout, he continued to learn and grow. With his volunteer work and leadership skills, he became a role model for younger scouts. Hank graduated from Livermore High School in 2011 and will be starting his second year at San Jose State University where he is majoring in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Math and Business Management.

As a Boy Scout, Hank earned 23 merit badges and the World Conservation Award. He spent 80 nights camping, over 30 miles boating (canoe/kayak), and over 20 miles hiking. He is always willing to help, and over the years, has a countless amount of community service hours. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow and is a Brownsea Leadership Training (NYLT) graduate. In his troop, Hank served as Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Chaplain Aide, and Den Chief (7 years). He has also staffed many Cub and Webelos Scout camps, both day and resident, for many years. June 2012, he staffed his 9th year at Cub Scout Day camp and his 3rd year at Webelos Day Camp. One of his highlights of his scouting career was attending Sea Base, a High Adventure Camp in the Florida Keys. Hank also enjoyed attended the 100th Anniversary Boy Scout Jamboree held at the Pleasanton Fair Grounds. His favorite camp is Royaneh, where for 5 years; he attended as a Boy Scout and as a staff member for 3 years at the Webelos Adventure Camp.

For his Eagle project, Hank repainted the parking lot lines for children’s playground and overflow parking area at Saint Michael’s Parish in Livermore, California. He had to create a written plan, solicit donations, procure materials, and secure resources to help with the project. The project took over 15 hours to plan and over 140 hours to complete. In three days, 22 volunteers used 10 gallons of paint and 6,840 feet (1.3 miles) of tape. The finished project looked professional and is still in great shape today. Wanting to focus on school, Hank chose to have his ceremony after completing his first year of college. Hank’s Eagle Scout Court of Honor was held at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall in Livermore on Saturday June 3rd, 2012 and was attended by over 100 family, friends, scout officials, and special guests including Mayor John Marchand and Mayor Emeritus Dr. Marshall Kamena.

Hank continues to be active in scouts. Currently, he is an assistant scout master for Troop 924 (his brother’s troop), and he is the co-program director for the 2013 Akela-n-me camp – already busily preparing a weekend of fun and useful activities for cub scouts of all ages. Other the years, Hank has learned many skills in scouting that are invaluable in life. He is helpful without being asked and without any expectation of praise or reward. He is an organized, inspiring leader. We know Hank will continue to serve his community well with all the skills he learned in scouting.

Congratulations Henry “Hank” Pabley for earning your rank of Eagle Scout!

Livermore Bulb
John Marchand May 21, 2013 at 06:31 pm
The light bulb is back on. Ironically, it was a device that was installed to protect the bulb fromRead More power surges that failed. When the bulb was reconnected to unfiltered power, it came back on.

as well take advantage of it. What I'm talking about is a reasonable rate for charging that isRead More within going rates, not the usurious rates charged by certain companies. I always love the hundred yard heroes who hide behind a false screen name

I'm not a greenie.....the only reason we leased one is, because of the tax loophole on the taxes weRead More already pay, we have an essentially free car for a couple of years. Maybe you're just upset because you weren't smart enough to figure that out and take advantage of it. Just like everyone with their solar panels; if we're all forced to pay for it, you may

Wow. Did I say free?

Rafael and his crew do great work, and not just lawn service. He replaced our sprinkler system andRead More sodded two new lawns when we moved into our house. He and his crew have trimmed trees, planted flowers, and even built a new fence and gate. All at a fair price. I can't recommend his services enough.

Thank you D! We couldn't be happier to have a program like this in our community. We couldn't agreeRead More with you more that giving back is the whole purpose of the program; to make our community a stronger more musical one for our youth!

Kevin and Chris are good guys. They genuinely want to give back and care about introducing as manyRead More kids (young and old) as possible to the incredibly rewarding world of music. I am fortunate enough to have had somebody similar to these guys motivate me to get involved in music when I was a kid. 31 years later, I am still beatin’ on my drums every day. Great job Kev and Chris. Keep it up!
