New rates to start on July 1.

The city is projected to end this fiscal year (July 1) with additional money, which is planned to go toward adding additional police officers, according to a report from the Contra Costa Times. City officials on Saturday will host a community compost giveaway.
Here's an announcement from the City of Livermore: On Saturday the City of Livermore Public Works Environmental Services Division and Livermore Sanitation will be hosting a Community Compost Giveaway. When Livermore residents put food scraps, grass clippings, and leaves in their Organics cart, the contents are processed into a rich soil called compost. This healthy compost will be made available to Livermore residents. The event will be held in the Maintenance Service Center parking lot at 3500 Robertson Park Road, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, or until the supply of bagged compost has been depleted. Park district trustees approve adding full-time teacher to before- and after-school program.
Here's information provided by the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District: At a regular meeting Wednesday night, the Board of Directors for the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District approved adding a full-time teacher to the Extended Student Services program. The new teacher would be added to the Sunset Elementary School ESS program, which currently has a waitlist of more than 70 students needing before/after-school child care for the 2012-2013 school year. There are already 115 children enrolled, which is the maximum that can be served with the current space and staffing. Construction of two synthetic turf fields is underway and expected to be completed in September.
Here's information provided by the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District: The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District held a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, May 1, for the future synthetic turf fields at Robertson Park. The LARPD Board of Directors, Fusion Soccer League and Tri-Valley Bank participated in the ceremony, which included a check presentation to the District to help with the cost of construction. The ceremonial groundbreaking took place with construction by Goodland Landscape Construction already visible on the fields. In November 2009, LARPD entered into an agreement with the Livermore Youth Soccer League (now known as Fusion Soccer) that involved the league paying forward $600,000 in future field use fees at a …
