UPDATE: Burglary Suspect Not Found in Search
The 700 block of Holmes Street, near Aaron Street, was temporarily closed Wednesday due to a police investigation.
Police continue to search for a high-risk parolee as part of a burglary investigation, Livermore Police Officer Dave Blake said.
At around 11 a.m. Wednesday, a SWAT team was called to the 700 block of Holmes Street, near Aaron Street. Officers believe the wanted parolee, Jay Marcus Johnson, was inside his home in the area.
Johnson, 22, was not found in the search. He is a suspect in a Jan. 10 burglary and is considered armed and dangerous, Blake said.
Police officers during the investigation redirected traffic on nearby streets to avoid the area. The streets reopened shortly after 12 noon.
Johnson is described as a black male, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 lbs, black hair and brown eyes.
During the investigation, police learned the following information:
- Johnson is currently on California Department of Corrections (CDC) Parole for robbery.
- A parole revocation warrant had already been issued for Johnson’s arrest by CDC prior to this investigation.
- The warrant lists Johnson as, “armed and dangerous.”
- Additionally, witnesses report Johnson has been seen with a handgun in his waistband.
- His criminal history includes robbery, possession of a concealed handgun, and resisting arrest.
Message from Livermore Police:
If you have any information concerning the whereabouts of Johnson, please contact Detective Marc Plute at 925-371-4755. Please do not attempt to contact or apprehend Johnson if seen.
The Livermore Police Department is committed to the safety and security of the citizen’s of Livermore. We regret any inconvenience to those affected by the nature of this police activity.
Special thanks to the East Bay Regional Parks Police Department for the loan of equipment and personnel used in this operation.

Is the suspect a Livermore resident? I'd be interested in hearing where he is from/where his crimes in the past have been committed. Thanks!

Natalie - K was just asking if they were a Livermore resident, a valid question considering this is LIVERMORE patch and it happened in LIVERMORE.
You need to calm it waaaaay down.

Perhaps if we didn't keep getting non-white cons from Oakland and Tracy/Brentwood coming here for greener pastures your question would be valid, Natalie.
Instead you come across as an illiterate liberal quick to introduce the "what if" argument, while failing to recognize the real world incidents. Read the blotter. And stop capsing - the point you are making isn't just that you are emphasizing, it also shows your lack of education.

DC- I apologize for the rush I implemented when typing my previous post at the beginning of this "blotter". It was insensitive of me to lay CAPS on most of my opinions. We, bloggers, all understand that it is a way to convey yelling or shouting. Again, I apologize. I only responded in what I felt were my feelings in that heat of the moment. Furthermore, I feel you need to know this about me: I graduated high school with a 3.75 grade point average, I was awarded the following scholarships-$400 from Monterey County Sheriff's Posse, $125 from Supervisor Perkins/Monterey Co., $300 from my hometown Rotary, $320 from a College Freshman Scholarship, and a $3,000 Pell Grant. I graduated from the same high school my grandmama graduated from and I did so as Salutatorian. How were you to know I am an accomplished, tax paying American of Mexican decent who's mother gave her away at the age of 11? You only deemed it proper to label me uneducated because I like to use the CAPS key when I rage in a forum.

Sorry Natalie but he is not from Livermore, yes he is now a resident but not homegrown. That being said plenty of loser like this guy are homegrown from Livermore. Livermore has parents that have done a horrible job in raising kids to be useful adults.Livermore of course has a better ratio of good kids compared to Oakland Etc ( not a racial thing just the facts ) . thats why LIvermore would have been foolish to place Bart downtown. At least that got the soccer mom types out and they stop that !!!!!

Who the hell are you David to say that Livermore Parents have done a horrilbe job in raising kids to be useful adults? What a shallow statement to make.... and so untrue it doesn't matter where you go there are troubled kids everywhere. Alot of times kids don't start their troubles until they learn the ways of the streets and we as parents do the best we can with the resources we have or are given. Are you a parent? Maybe you should write a book on how to raise a child/teenager/young adult lets see how successful it is, Just Saying....

Cindy get over yourself, as a parent of two, both grown up in Livermore and both having achieved PhD's in their field I do know what it takes to bring someone up to be successful not that you have to earn a PhD to be that.Your right a book would not help, first off if you really need a book to raise a kid thats a problem, second the type of parents that could use help wouldnt read a book anyway. They lack what it takes, or life is just too hard on them and probably shouldn't have had kids to start with. Open your eyes and see the truth !!!! Yes your right about kids troubles starting when they start hanging with others so just maybe thats when parents need to pick up their game so to speak. Dont use resources as an excuss.Lame

Everyone is a product of their environment. There are those that break the mold and those that conform to the stereotypes, that just the way the world works. Everyone here seem to be missing the real point, in that more and more people are starting to stop respecting authority. It seems the paradigm has shifted and the "sense of entitlement" era is upon us. Our, being California, revolving door of justice keeps spitting these people back on the streets with no tools to move forward in life and no consequence if they revert back to their unlawful behavior. It doesn't matter where the guy is from, it matters that he is here. What are 'we' going to do about it, besides bickering back and forth with the name calling like we are back in high school? We need to stop hand cuffing our law enforcement and let them do their jobs like they get paid to do.
DC
5:31 pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2012
Agreed, Ryan, aside from the statement "no tools to move forward in life".
Anyone can make it in this country, regardless of who they are or where they are. I say this as someone who lived WAY below the poverty line, as someone who suffered from lack of health care and food, etc. I clawed my way out of it and now live somewhat comfortably. The problem isn't whether people can get out, it is whether they have the will to. And frankly, it isn't my problem if the person has no will to get it together.
In terms of providing tools to inmates to move forward in life, why? Especially considering the recidivism rate, most programs we've tried have been a waste of money. Additionally, inmates use that as an excuse as to why they're back in jail - the "tools" *are* an entitlement.
I'd be fine if those tools that were offered were contingent on participants undergoing weekly drug tests and performing community service. There should be no more free rides.

Also, DC, why do you believe that a person who is "grammatically-correct" have the qualifications to judge anyone else? I am so sorry to burst your bubble, honey-there is only one source of judgement-and I shall meet Him after I take my last breath on earth. He is judge, jury, and sentence dealer. You also seem to like to demean people on here-are you OK honey? Do you need a hug? ***How are my sentences now? Do they fall under the grammatically-correct made for blog guidelines? Raging in a forum with caps is uneducated. You may be fully educated, but you're going into gutter territory when you start blowing out full sentences in caps. There's no need for it, and all you are doing is diluting the rest of your message.
In terms of "light skinned, dirty blonde, white" folks committing crimes, I consider them to be garbage as well.
The issue I have with your post is the instant assumption that someone asking a question on the residency is asking a racist question / being a racist. Sorry, but look at the crime stats: Oakland, Salinas and Richmond have an inordinate amount of minorities committing crimes. This is the reason I oppose BART coming to Livermore: we're just making it easier for people to get into a great city that is the polar opposite of Oakland, Salinas and Richmond. This isn't a racial issue to me, it is an economic opportunism issue.
In terms of my usage of the word "blotter", I'm referring to a police blotter, not a blogger/blog/etc.
All of that being said, I congratulate you on attaining a good education and certainly overcoming adversity. We just disagree on this issue.

I'm sorry that comment about grammar upset you so much. For someone who received such a great education that certainly got under your skin. No - I'm thinking you didn't get the education you claim. I gave you too much credit - you are the fool I initially thought.

Natalie, I would hate to disturb you well thought out rants but I feel that you might be the problem here. You are exactly what is wrong with this country. A bleeding heart liberal with a bible in one hand a torch in the other to light those that disagree with you on fire. Metaphorically, not literally...don't want you to 'read between the lines'. Jumping down the throat of others for asking a questions is the wrong way to direct your efforts. There need to be a consensus on our efforts and realize the issues lie way deeper than the old fall back that the Natalie's of the world always jump to, race.

Instead of turning the statement about his city of residence into the raging discussion above, consider this. I, as ex-law enforcement, take value in knowing what area a Parolee at Large, Armed and Dangerous, might hang out in. Might a person want to be aware, this man might be walking along your neighborhood street, everyday?

They probably told you not to call the person taking the report because that person is assigned to patrol. He/She took the report and most likely gave it to investigations to, well, investigate.. If you have a report number try calling investigations. Their number should be on the department website.

Geez, my curiousity seemed to open up a can of worms. I just wanted to know where the criminals committing all these crimes are coming from, and it is most certainly not my fault that a pattern of urban criminals visiting suburbs to burglarize has emerged in our town. I was not implicating that but others have obviously assumed such implications and taken great offense. Maybe I'm hitting a little too close to home, didn't know dangerous criminals were so worthy and righteous to be defended by strangers...
