"I Wish We Can Do Something. I Don't Know What to Do."

Family of driver involved in collision that left 13-year-old Nathan Strube dead trying to cope with unfortunate accident.

Frank Marron feels helpless.

He wishes he can ease the suffering his father is going through. He wishes he can help his cousin get some rest. He wishes there was a way to undo Tuesday's .

Marron's father and cousin were in the pickup truck that Nathan struck while longboarding Tuesday at Lomitas Avenue and Kara Place. , suffered major injuries in the collision. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

"I wish we can do something," Marron said in an interview with Livermore Patch. "I don't know what to do."

Marron says his father, who was driving the pickup truck, is very upset over the incident.

"He wishes he could have done something to stop this from happening," Marron said of his father. "But there's nothing that he could have done."

Marron, who runs a landscaping and maintenance company in town with his father, forced his dad to come to work on Wednesday.

"We're trying to keep him busy so that he's not sitting around and thinking about it," Marron said.

His cousin — who also works with Marron and was sitting in the passenger side of the pickup truck — never made it out to work Wednesday.

"My cousin just couldn't sleep," Marron said. "He saw the whole accident from the truck's mirror."

Even Marron has had a difficult time dealing with the accident.

"I wasn't involved, but I'm shaking every time I think about it," he said.

Marron and his family plan to reach out to the Strubes after some time has passed to allow everyone to grieve.

"There's so many things I want to say, but I don't know. I feel sorry for what happened. Even my dad. We wish we can do something to bring the kid back," Marron said. "Unfortunately, there’s nothing that can be done. I don't know. I wish we can do something."
