Construction on New Outlets In Full Swing

The Paragon Outlets will open in November in Livermore across the freeway from Dublin's Fallon Gateway.

If you've driven on I-580 east recently you've likely noticed that construction is well underway on the Paragon Outlets. The shopping center is scheduled to open in Livermore in November.

The outlets will feature eight retail buildings, to be constructed over 540,000 square feet off El Charro Road near the golf course.

The outlets are located across the freeway from Dublin's Fallon Gateway, where a new Target opened last year and BJs Restaurant and Brewhouse will open this spring.

In January, outlet officials announced Bloomingdale's will join the list of stores that will anchor the shopping complex.

The shopping center will include more than 120 stores. A food court also will be built as part of the project.

A list of preliminary tenants has been announced (listed below), with Bloomingdale's being the most recent to sign up.

This will be great for the city to have that many jobs come in to our town all at once, I know someone already asked but it would be great to get some info on the hiring situation, but this will most likely be a great help for a lot of the people struggling to find work out here

So excited about this project. We will have some wonderful stores -- can't wait for Bloomie's! I would also like to see a nice restaurant, perhaps a PF Chang's, California Pizza Kitchen, a nice steakhouse, a good Italian restaurant -- something like that.

I could have sworn they originally promised a coach outlet! Oh well. I'm on the fence about this - On one hand I'm looking forward to not having to drive far to shop at a premium outlet mall, but on the other hand it will just bring more crowding to an already too crowded town!!!! Next will be BART. Livermore used to have that "small town" feeling to it when I was younger, but not anymore. It's waaaaay too crowded. I feel like moving off to the mountains to live like "little house in the big woods" lol

I'm kinda surprised there aren't any businesses going in that cater to the huge senior housing property across the street. Stoneridge Creek is being built now, and people will start moving in sometime in mid 2013. I don't think these stores will be very attractive to that crowd. Anyone who can open a really good, local, breakfast/lunch/dinner restaurant (like a Denny's, but better) will have a gold mine on their hands. Seniors LOVE places like that, and will keep them in business if there's anyone out there who is looking to open a GOOD local restaurant. (If the food is bad or if the employees are lazy, forget it, the seniors won't give you a penny). There is a great opportunity here for someone.

I agree with you Sharissa .....
i was hoping this would be more like Santa Row in San Jose ......some upscale stuff.
But if you are going to have outlet stores then Nordstrom Rack is a must .......
I wish they'd quit trying to take away our little hometown feel......
And there are great restuarants in Livermore ......to comment on a previous post ......Uncle Yu's, Star Anise , we have great Mexican restaurants ......
please don't bring in a PF Changs .....ugh......a good steakhouse .....Flemings or the like. Can't get a good steak around here !!
California Pizza Kitchen would be awesome !!!

food/restaurant wise -- NO on PF changs (there are BETTER chinese restaurants in town and is less expensive)...is it that hard to drive to stoneridge mall? even california pizza is in stoneridge is it not? red lobster, olive garden, or maybe another steakhouse? something different that we don't have here in the tri-valley that many of us have to drive so far to enjoy ourselves.

would like to see puma outlet (wow gotta drive to gilroy for that)...or what my husband wanted to know..."why not a fox outlet store?"

No way on Red Lobster or Olive Garden! Gross micowaved food! We need a Pizza Rock, a Pluto's....what about The Counter? I wish it was going to be more like Santana Row but instead sounds more like the Gilroy outlets.

I agree with you Amy. I thought this was go into be high end outlet. You think people that are thinking of shopping there are going to want to eat at Olive Garden or Red Lobster??? We definitely need to keep that Santana Row feel or ten years down the road it is going to get all trashy like other outlets and the high end retailers will leave. We definitely need a steakhouse around here like a Flemings or such.

How about a Pottery Barn outlet? The closest one is in Socal - Temecula. And I agree - Gucci would be great, otherwise we'd still have to go to the Vacaville outlets. Also, is there such a thing as an Anthropologie outlet?

We need a great kitchen gourmet store like Sur La Table in the SF Ferry building. This would be a great fit for the Livermore Valley wine country as well as a draw for the folks living at new adjacent Senior living complex in Pleasanton who likely are into creating upscale meals for themselves.
